NBAers Showin' Christmas Love...

Check out ya boy Kobe Bryant passing out gifts to the little "chirrens" at the Lakers Christmas Party. Also, members of the Phoenix Suns delivered presents to children. (NBA)

M.J. at a Basketball Game...

Here's M.J. skinnin' and grinnin' at a Charlotte Bobcats game this week. He looks mighty damn happy. That laugh looks so geniune, and it screams "Bitch I'm paid....that' all I gotta say." I'd be cheesing everytime anybody saw me if I had M.J. money. Wonder how the divorce procedures are going??

Yay!!!

A.I. is now a Nugget! I don't know how this will work out, but I'm just happy that he's on a team. His 10 year career with the Sixers came to an official end when the Denver Nuggets said, "Allen, we want your ass....sign the contract." I guess now that he's in Denver, he can get whoever braids Carmelo's hair to hook him up.

UPDATE...

Well, Santa Clause can't be real b/c D'Angelo Hall did not get his Christmas wish. T.O won't be suspended...only fined. He'll be fined 35K for his childish antics, and I'm sure that he really gives a damn. Knowing this fool, he probably had the 35K in his pocket. I can see the NFL fining T.O. and him reaching into his pocket like 'that's it?' Oh Well. D'Angelo should've just beat that ass. (FOXSPORTS)

Carmelo Anthony is one of several players to suffer repercussions for participating in Saturday Fight Night...better known as the Knicks/Nuggets game. He'll miss 15 games of action. (FOXSPORTS)

I Wish the NFL Would Just Do Away With T.O...

Saying that Terrell Owens is out of control is an understatment. I really don't think there're words to describe such a confusing individual. On Saturday, when the Cowboys played the Falcons, T.O. decided that he'd spit in DeAngelo Hall's face!!! If this isn't a big deal to you, you're probably a person who'd do some nasty shit like this. HOWEVER, in my book, spitting on somebody is an ultimate low and really gets no more disgusting. What could provoke you to do that?? I'd just punch a person before spitting on them, and I'd rather be punched than spat on.

Well, Hall was the bigger man and "walked away." He could've turned that game out NBA style if he wanted to. IMO, if he would've attached Asshole Owens, that would've been justified. Hall is pushing for T.O. to be suspended...

"I think, for what he did, he deserves more than a fine. The guy has all the money in the world. He's making $10 million or whatever this year. So what's a fine going to mean to him, really? What he did, it was [vulgar], you know? But he's a great player, a great competitor, and what would hurt him a lot more than a fine is making him sit. That would get his attention. And that's what I think the league should do. They need to do something pretty [severe], because there's something wrong with him, and he just can't get away with this kind of stuff."

I agree with him. A fine is nothing for him to pay. His ass really does need to be susupended. **smh**
Knicks vs Nuggets

In case you missed the Knicks and Nuggets acting a damn fool, you can can check it out above.

Duke Lacrosse Rape Scandal is Getting Crazier....

It seems like this case gets crazier and crazier. How 'bout the alleged raped stripper is preggers!!! Yep, she's "expected to deliver anyday" even though there've been reports that she gave birth last night. This is some bizarre shit. NOW, if you've been keeping up with the whole Duke Lacrosse team rape/stripper case, you'll know that it happened approximately NINE months ago (March 13th if you're unfamiliar). Some rich white boys in North Carolina need to cross their fingers, pray, consult a voo-doo doctor or something!! If it turns out that a member of the Lacrosse team indeed is the baby daddy, this chick needs to hire a bodyguard cus.....well, ya'll know why. Read this shit for yourself.

Real Quick Like....

Not much seems to be going on...well nothing interesting at least. I could just blog more about how D. Wade is my idea of perfect eye candy, or how if I get within a few feet of him I'll probably get arrested, or how I think he should call me at (205)833....just kidding (lol).

WTF???

OK...so I was browsing Media Takeout and ran across these disturbing pictures of Cuttino Mobley. I'm not one to make assumptions, but there really isn't much "else" to assume from these shots. Look at the first pic....he's lookin hella "glossy." Hmmmm???? And the second pic....no comment. Hopefully he was just playing (lol)...

Tiger Woods Wins Golfer of the Year...

Tiger Woods won PGA Tour player of the year for only the eighth time in his career. I'd say that's pretty impressive being that he lost his father only a few months ago. I don't really follow him or golf, but I guess he's still the man. What I do know about Tiger Woods is that he's a REALLY rich man. I think I need to practice my swing...

The Ball Is Back!!!

Say it ain't so!! I can't believe that David Stern is actually gonna reverse a decision that he made. This man doesn't back down from anything!!! He's going to go back to the old balls...yay!!! This is a giant step for the complaining players of the National Basketball Association b/c the Commish doesn't givva damn. When he makes up something stupid, he usually stands by it. They should definitely feel victorious. I know it doesn't make a difference to me what balls they use, but I'm happy that the new ball is going away. I just didn't like the way it looked.

Where Will A.I. Go???

OK...so I'm sure everybody knows that A.I. is in the midst of a trade and blah, blah, blah. To me, this is loooong overdue. This man, IMO, has done all that he can in Phili and they haven't even so much as found a teammate who can share his load or counter produce. SO...the question is where will he go? I guess no one knows BUT if I had my way, he'd go to Atlanta. NOT for any reason other than me wanting to be able to catch him in action. NO I don't live in the A, but I live damn close and would be an instant Hawks fans if A.I. bought his braids and tattoos to the A.T.L.

Troy Smith Wins Heisman...

Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith received 801 first-place votes to win the Heisman by 1,662 points. No other Heisman winner has received more points than him (well, O.J. Simpson is the only other person, but does he even still have his Heisman???). Arkansas running back Darren McFadden (878) finished second, Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn (782) was third and West Virginia running back Steve Slaton (214) was fourth.

Tom Brady Sues Yahoo...

New England Patriots star Tom Brady is suing Yahoo over the use of his photo in an advertisement for fantasy football. The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in California, charges that Yahoo used an image of the quarterback, who has won three Super Bowls, without his permission....It cites estimates that fantasy football is a $4 billion industry, and that the offering from Yahoo is reported to be the largest, with more than 4.4 million users. (CNN)
That's how the rich stay rich...by suing for everything under the sun. I think that I saw my picture in my high school yearbook that I don't remember authorizing. I remember taking the picture to purchase to give to my family members and etc., but I didn't give permission to have it in the yearbook. I wonder if I have a case???!!!???

Lisa Leslie is Gonna Be a Mommy!!!!

Yay!!! She'll, of course, miss the season because she's due in June. I'm sure she doesn't really give a damn because this is waaaaaaay more important. Leslie, who's 35, is having her first kid with husband Michael Lockwood.

Vince Young Wins Rookie of the Week...

Vince Young beat Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Jerious Norwood, and DeMeco Ryans to win the Diet Pepsi Rookie of the Week!!! Congrats to him. I hope he continues to have a really great career.

I Don't Know How True This Is, But...

I heard that Juanita Jordan filed for a divorce....again. Supposedly she is dead ass serious and there's nothing that M. J. can say or do to reverse this. A few years ago, she filed for divorce but they ended up "working it out." I've heard rumors of Michael Jordan's infidelity and rumors of him fathering at least one outside child. Who knows?? Whatever the case, I also heard that she is entitled to half of his estimated $500 million fortune (big ups to Juanita!!). If the whole divorce thing is true, it's sad b/c they've been married for over 16 years. But hey, with over half of the money that Michael Jordan has, I'm sure Juanita will be just fine....call me girl!! (lol)

D. Wade is Sportsman of the Year...

Dwayane Wade was named the Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year.
"Dwyane embodies that winning spirit by playing for his team, not himself, and
by working in the community to ensure young people have the chance to realize
their own dreams," SI group editor Terry McDonell said."
Of course this award is not nearly as important as the 'Lifetime Can Get It Whenever He Wants It' Award that I presented the moment I laid eyes on sexual chocolate (lol)!! Congrats .

Tony And Eva Sittin' in a Tree.....

(you know the rest). In what was described as a romantic and perfect proposal, Tony Parker made it known to girlfriend turned fiance Eva Longoria, that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Awwww...the two are planning to marry in Paris in the summer of 2007. Good luck to the both of them!

Allen Iverson...

may be facing a fine (I'm sure he really cares). He missed a team "meet and greet" with sponsors and premium seat-holders at a Philadelphia bowling alley. For being a no show, he will likely have to pay for it. Maybe I don't know all of the details but this just sounds like bullshit to me.

**HEY!!!

Just wanted to let ya'll know that I'm still alive!!! BUT have been very sick and haven't felt like touching a computer. I haven't had the energy to formulate sentences (lol). I'm feeling a little better though, and I hope to get back on my shit tomorrow if not sooner.

**Oh yeah, if you see an interesting sports story email it to me. I have no idea what's been going on.**

Miami Fires Larry Coker...

Coaching is a dirty world, and Larry Coker has found out for himself. After the traditionally dominant, Miami Hurricanes finished with a 6-6 record, Coker (59-15 Miami record) was given the axe. Miami, who's been a football powerhouse for years, started falling off a couple of seasons ago, and struggled this year. (ESPN)

This BCS is Garbage...

I don't usually comment on many college sports, players, etc. because I work in collegiate athletics, and I'd rather plead the fifth. PLUS I had to sign a confidentiality agreement that I would never make public biased statements regarding any facet of collegiate athletics AND if I did I would be executed upon notification of my actions. So I say this with my fingers crossed...

Check out this week's Bowl College Series (BCS) rankings. If you keep up with it like I do, you'll know why it's complege garbage that the #1 and #2 spots are exactly the same as they were last week. Nationally ranked #2 Michigan lost to #1 Ohio State over the weekend and I be damned if they still are in the national championship title game picture. The BCS has shown to be flawed over the years, but to me this is the ultimate. This really shows that the BCS is stupid and makes absolutely no sense. How can a team lose a game yet not lose their ranking? If I'm Ohio State, I'm pissed about the possibility of having to play the same tough opponent again. It wasn't easy to beat Michigan on Saturday, and I'm sure it will be just as hard to beat them in a championship game. Sorry, but I had to vent about this issue.

The BCS Top 5 (None of the teams in the top 5 changed from last week!)
1 Ohio State
2 Michigan
3 USC
4 Florida
5 Notre Dame

D. McNabb Out for the Season...

Donovan McNabb can't get a break. For the third time in five years, the Eagles will continue without him. He's finished for the season after tearing his ACL in his right knee in the Eagles' 31-13 loss to the Titans on yesterday.

OK, I'm Confused...

(2004 WWE Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons)

How could anybody ever forget the Indiana/Detroit NBA Smackdown event two years ago? What people probably don't remember is the name of the guy (John Green) who ignited the fuse, better known as Ron Artest. Green threw a cup from the stands that hit Artest, and well....ya'll know the rest.

This man has recently been issued a letter stating that: 'You are forever banned from attending any Detroit Pistons home games.' This really confuses me. How in the hell will they be able to know if he attends another Pistons game? Are you admitted into the games via fingerprint? How will they be able to identify this man from thousands of other people? I just don't get it. Are they going to make every ticket taker study his picture in hopes of recognizing his face? I could be ignorant, but I just don't understand. I guess it's good that they've TRIED to take some kind of actions against this guy since the players were punished.

(Thanks Nikky!!)

Another Case of 'Let the Game Go!'

Chris Webber is unhappy, and he recently voiced that unhappiness about his reduced role (includes three 4th quarter benchings) to the 76ers president. I'm sure ya'll all know that
C. Webb had knee surgery a few years back, and he has failed to bounce back to full speed. He is averaging 10.3 points on 37 percent shooting in 30.6 minutes which is down from his 14-year career averages of 21.5 points on 48 percent shooting in 37.9 minutes. Chris Webber says: "I'm not going to keep playing like this. I don't like this role." Well spoken.

The "old" Chris Webber days seem so long ago. Due to his unfortunate set of circumstances, he now joins Grant Hill on my 'Let the Game Go' list.

The Generosity of Allen Iverson...

Three years ago, a teenager in Philadelphia was shot in the back after refusing to 'give up' his Allen Iverson jersey. The shooting left him paralyzed, in a wheelchair, and eventually on a ventilator. Last week, the ventilator failed, and the now 22-year old suffered irreparable brain damage. The family chose to take him off it. On Tuesday morning, he died and Allen Iverson has agreed to pay for the funeral expenses. The family invited Iverson to the funeral, but it conflicts with the Sixers matchup with Milaukee. He will be buried in none other than an Allen Iverson Jersey.

This is really sad to hear. You have serious issues to shoot someone over a jersey. How about you rob somebody for money and then buy a brand new one. People don't think.

Get 'Em Cowboy!

HEYYYYY!!! My boi Emmitt won the Dancing with the Stars! I must admit that I haven't been too faithful of a viewer (I'm not a big 'TV' person), but I did catch a few of his performances. I also saw the last episode before the announcing of the winner, and Emmitt was on point! Check him out doing the Mumbo...it's worth watching if you haven't seen it. CONGRATS Emmitt!

O.J. Stands For "Old Jackass!!"

Fox plans to broadcast an interview with O.J. Simpson in which the former football star discusses "how he would have committed" the slayings of his ex-wife and her friend, for which he was acquitted, the network said.

The two-part interview, titled "O.J. Simpson: If I Did It, Here's How It Happened," will air Nov. 27 and Nov. 29, the TV network said.

Simpson has agreed to an "unrestricted" interview with book publisher Judith Regan, Fox said. "O.J. Simpson, in his own words, tells for the first time how he would have committed the murders if he were the one responsible for the crimes," the network said in a statement. "In the two-part event, Simpson describes how he would have carried out the murders he has vehemently denied committing for over a decade." (ESPN)

Somebody please hand O.J. his "shut the f*** up card!" Calling him stupid would be an understatement. I guess with Johnny gone, he hasn't been receiving the right "advice." I've always heard the sterotype about athletes not being too smart. His big dumb ass is about to make me a believer.

Message to Artest: 'Drop the Mic!!'....

Ron Artest's CD was unsurprisingly....a flop. His debut album "My World" sold a whopping 343 copies! I guess in "his world," only 343 people givva damn. I'm sure over 100 of them were critics and/or reporters who purchased the CD only to write about it's atrociousness. Several athletes have tried to develop a rap career, only to fail. I don't think it's that ball players can't rap, it's just that we don't wanna hear that shit. As much as I loooooove D. Wade, if he got the idea to rap, I would not support that decision. He knows that too, so he won't be dropping any albums anytime soon, lol.

Pat Tillman Honored...

(L-Pat Tillman "the Soldier" R- Pat Tillman "the NFL star")

During yesterday's halftime, the Arizona Cardinal's had a ceremony in which they added Pat Tillman to the team's "Ring of Honor." During the ceremony Tillman's name was unfurled overlooking the 50-yard line. Before the game, the Cardinals dedicated an area outside the stadium known as "Pat Tillman Freedom Plaza." It includes a 500-pound, 8-foot tall bronze statue of Tillman. Behind the sculpture is a 42-foot-long wall, symbolic of Tillman's number at Arizona State. There are 40 oak trees west of the memorial, symbolizing the No. 40 he wore with the Cardinals.

That sounds really nice. HOWEVER, I'm still trying to understand how a man walks away from a multi-million dollar contract to go "serve his country" in Iraq. That puzzles the hell outta me, BUT hey...to each his own.

Clinton Portis Breaks His Hand....

It seems like Clinton Portis can't get a break this season.

Portis broke his right hand in the first half of today's game against the Eagles. Before the injury, he had rushed for 25 yards on six carries. He's been bothered by nagging injuries all season. In the preseason opener, he partially dislocated his shoulder. The Redskins would go on to lose to Philadelphia 27-3.

I'm right handed so breaking my right hand would not be in my best interest. That sounds really painful!

Ben Wallace on the Cover of Muscle & Fitness...

WOW! Ben Wallace is on the December 2006 edition of Muscle & Fitness Magazine, and I don't think I knew that he was that swole! It looks like all he thinks about is working out. You have to give credit to people who're that committed to their bodies. Is it just me or does Ben Wallace remind you of a big strapping SLAVE?? He reminds me of that rebellious slave who always tried to run every chance he got, and when he got caught it took like 20 little white guys to apprehend him. I could go on about that but I'll stop here LOL. **this comment contains not a drop of racism**

The Laila Ali Fight...

I love Laila Ali. She's such a kick ass chick (literally)! How cool is it that one of the most beautiful women in sports (and I'm comparing her to any woman in any sport) is a boxer?? I just love her "bitch bring it" attitude and the fact that she'll knock you out and still manage to maintain her feminity while doing so.

Shelley Burton was Ali's latest victim. The two fought untelevised last night at Madison Square Gardens. Even though this fight was at the Gardens and a "big deal," HBO refused to show it. Why?...well, because the two fighting don't have dicks. Plain and simple. ANYWAY, Ali allowed Burton to last four rounds.

A left-right combination smashed Burton's nose and an eruption of blood fell to the canvas as referee Arthur Mercante Jr. stopped the bout.
"I wanted to knock her out cold," Laila Ali said, "but unfortunately she turned her back, which meant she didn't want any more." (ESPN)

Damn! Ali is that friend who you feel safe with at the club. If something's about to go down, you don't even worry cus Laila will handle it. She's now 23-0 with 20 knockouts.

LeBron James a Quitter??

James was widely criticized on sports talk radio and by TV pundits for leaving the floor in the final seconds Tuesday night in a 104-95 overtime loss to Atlanta. After missing a 3-pointer with 15 seconds left, he began walking off the floor toward Cleveland's locker room while the Hawks dribbled out the clock. James stopped near the baseline by Cleveland's bench and watched until the final horn sounded. James doesn't think he did anything unusual.

"It's not like I walked off the court and came to the locker room while there was still time left on the clock," he said before Thursday's game against Chicago. "I stood on the court the whole time, until the buzzer's end, I even said something to [Hawks guard] Joe Johnson on his way out." (ESPN)

This is bullshit! It must really suck to constantly be in the spotlight and have your every move evaluated. I can't believe that they were even trying to make a big deal out of this.

University of Miami Football Player Killed...

Police searched for clues Wednesday in the killing of University of Miami lineman Bryan Pata, the shooting marking the team's fourth death in the last decade. Pata, a popular figure on campus, practiced Tuesday afternoon and was shot Tuesday night at his apartment complex. It was the latest shock to a Hurricanes team touched by tragedy and turmoil, including a separate gun case this season and a wild on-field brawl last month. The 22-year-old senior who grew up in Miami was pronounced dead in the parking lot outside his apartment. His death was ruled a homicide, Miami-Dade police spokesman Roy Rutland said. (Continue)
Damn! I wonder what happened. From reading the entire article, it paints a picture of a guy who wasn't involved in anything shady, and had no known enemies. Hopefully whoever's guilty will be found quickly.

Guess the Kid...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

How adorable. Can you guess this kid turned NBA star?? Kinda reminds me of "Kenny" from the Cosby Show.

Shawn Kemp Wants A Ring...

Shawn Kemp is reportedly thinking about embarrassing his way back into the NBA (LMAO!!) He's said that "he wants a ring." Where do I start?? Shawn Kemp is definitely one of my all time NBA favorites. Back when he was hot, he was...the shit. He was awesome to watch, and though I'm not a big "dunk" person, he made you cross your fingers that he'd breakaway and get one in. HOWEVER, now that he's basically fallen off, he may just want to stay where he is. The six-time All-Star said he will be headed to Italy next month to play for a team in Rome, and still wants another shot at playing in the NBA. I think he just wants another shot at being able to support all his kids and baby mamas. I just hate it when legends return, and are laughing stocks. So if he does return, I hope he's the Shawn Kemp of old and proves people like myself all wrong. (SI)

Old Joe Breaks His Leg...

Joe Paterno is perhaps the oldest man alive. I think it's amazing that the oldest man alive is still calling shots from the sidelines. However, it wasn't so amazing on Saturday when he broke his left leg and damaged a knee ligament when two players ran into him during Penn State's loss to Wisconsin. Ouch!! Team officials said Sunday that surgery was being considered. If I was him I'd be super pissed. If the man had his leg broken, the least his team could've done was win the damn ball game! Well, I wish Gramps a speedy recovery.

I Think That....I Like Soccer!!!!

I spent all of last week at a women's collegiate soccer tournament/championship. At first, I wasn't too excited about this because I've never watched a soccer game in my entire life. It just sounds like something that I'm not supposed to be watching. I went into the tournament not knowing about the game (well, I knew that you couldn't use your hands). I had no idea about how the clock worked, if there were quarters or halves, how many people were to be on the field at once....I just had no earthly idea!! But I got into it, and I found myself enjoying it. So kudos for me and my new found interest.

Jalen Rose Goes to Phoenix...

Well, it didn't take Jalen Rose long to find a new place to call home. After being waived by the Knicks, he has found a spot on the Phoenix Suns' roster. I visited his official blog, and along with some other things, he said:
Choosing the next chapter in my career has been difficult but I am proud to announce that I am now a member of the... PHOENIX SUNS. I look forward to getting this season started and hope to see you at the Larry O'Brien championship trophy presentation in June. The stage is set, now its time to grind!

Congratulations to him. I hope that everything works out for him in Phoenix. I must say that I thought he was going to Miami though.

Lamar Odom Bouncing Back...

There's a nicely written "feel good" story about Lamar Odom on ESPN.COM. It talks about how he's boucing back after the sudden death of his infant son, and etc. It also talks about a t-shirt line that he's coming out with. Now, that's not interesting in itself b/c it seems that everyone has some sort of clothing line. HOWEVER, this line is a little different in that the shirts have biblical images (i.e. Jesus on the cross, and etc.). Odom says that he's a sprititual guy and a changed man. Below is his depiction of Jesus, that appears on one of his shirts. I just have one question; wasn't Jesus only 33 at his time of cruxification?? This guy looks like Frederick Douglas.

{L-Frederick Douglas; R-Lamar Odom's Jesus}

Chad Johnson Getting Fined....

The NFL is making it more and more obvious that they won't tolerate playful antics by their players. I would've never guessed that Chad...oops, Ocho Cinco would be fined for an "Ocho Cinco" velcro nameplate across the back of his jersey on Sunday. Reportedly, he's being fined $5,000 (it's believed that he will appeal). During Sunday's game against the Falcons, he came out with the nameplate and QB Carson Palmer ripped it off revealing his....real name. I thought it was funny, innovative, and entertaining. However, the National Football League, thought differently. Seems really strict, but they make the rules. I guess they're just trying to keep the game 100% football. All the other shit will cost money.

Why is Tiki Retiring??

Ok, Ok, Ok...so ya'll have heard that Tiki Barber plans to retire after this season right? Well, the reason behind this decision has been rumored. HIS WIFE.
Tiki Barber's wife was the catalyst behind the Giants star's decision to hang up his helmet. A longtime friend of Barber says she made him afraid he'd suffer a catastrophic injury that would turn him into a lousy dad. (SI)

WTF?? She must have some serious mind control over him if this is true. And if it is, I ain't mad at her.

Somebody Please...Grab Isiah, and Snatch the Crack Pipe!!

Can ya'll believe this fool cut Jalen Rose today??? WTF!! I just don't get it. I don't understand. The Knicks picked him up in February (of last season), he averaged 12.7 points in 26 games, and he was expected to make $16.9 million this season!!! Not to mention, he's JALEN ROSE. So why cut him?? I don't think that Isiah is very businessminded (just a wild guess). I guess he has some hellufied trick up his sleeve to help the Knicks win the east. Good Luck.

More D. Wade....

I'm sure that I'm not the only one who can't get enough of Dwyane Wade. He's gracing the cover of GQ, and the above photo is one of the inside shots. He was also spotted at some kind of GQ party....with wifey, and some more people. I ran across quite a few pictures, and decided to post these. The first two are from GQ. Also, you can click to enlarge the images.
